Employment Associate – Taylor Wessing UK

We are seeking a talented Employment Associate with 2–4 years’ post‑qualification experience to join our Employment & Pensions team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a global law firm that partners with some of the world’s most innovative businesses. You will advise on complex employment law matters, handle high‑profile litigation, and support corporate transactions while collaborating with a team that values creativity, integrity, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full range of employment tribunal litigation, including advocacy at preliminary hearings where appropriate, and advise HR managers, in‑house counsel, and senior executives on diverse employee relations issues.
  • Draft, review, and advise on HR policies, employment contracts and directors’ service agreements.
  • Act for high‑net‑worth individuals on service agreements, team moves and termination arrangements.
  • Provide UK employment law advice to international clients and coordinate cross‑border projects.
  • Handle High Court proceedings relating to business protection for employers and employees.
  • Deliver corporate support, often acting as the sole employment specialist on transactions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Qualified solicitor with 2–4 years PQE in employment law and strong technical ability and excellent commercial acumen.
  • Proven experience in negotiations and transaction management.
  • Ability to manage client files independently and maintain high levels of client contact.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with potential or proven business development skills.

Benefits

  • Hybrid working – opportunity to work remotely while maintaining a social boundary by working from our award‑winning offices for 3 days a week.
  • Holiday – our basic annual holiday entitlement starts at 25 days, with a discretionary paid leave day in December and the option to purchase up to five extra days each year (pro rata).
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave – after one year of service, you are entitled to up to 26 weeks of full‑pay leave if you or your partner give birth or adopt a child.
  • Comprehensive flexible benefits package.

Our culture

Nurturing a diverse, inclusive culture allows all of our talent to flourish, sparks creativity and powers innovation. We continue to build a team that exemplifies inclusivity and reflects the firm’s core values: creative, excellence, integrity, responsibility, respect and teamwork. We value and celebrate differences in who we are, what we have experienced and how we think, ensuring all candidates are treated fairly regardless of age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender identity, marital status, neurodiversity, pregnancy, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation and socio‑economic background.
