Taylor Stevenson is currently recruiting LGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to support a busy distribution operation based in South Ockendon, Thurrock. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced LGV drivers looking for a stable role with excellent earning potential, premium rates, overtime, and ongoing driver support.
Salary: £18.06 per hour 11% London Weighting Approx. £43,300 per year
Additional premium rates available:
- Weekly overtime paid at x1.3
- Rest day working paid at x1.5
- Driver bonus scheme included
What You'll Be Doing
You will be part of a critical distribution operation, responsible for:
- Transporting clothing and homeware products to stores across the South East.
- Completing trunk runs as required.
- Working safely and professionally at all times.
- Maintaining a Safety First approach, prioritising the safety of yourself, colleagues, and the public.
Working Pattern
- 42 hours per week
- 5 days out of 7
- Includes 2 full weekends in every 10 weeks, plus some additional weekend days
- Shift start times between 10:00 and 17:30
What You'll Need
- LGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC card
- Minimum 1 year Class 1 HGV driving experience
- Experience coupling and uncoupling trailers
- Maximum of 6 points on driving licence
- No penalty points or convictions
Training & Support
Successful applicants will receive:
- 2 days' training with a Driver Development Coach (DDC)
- Ongoing support from a Manager and Driver Development Coach after training
Benefits & Premium Rates
- Weekend Premiums (06:00–22:00)
- Saturday: +£3.00 per hour
- Sunday: +£5.00 per hour
- Night Premiums (22:00–06:00)
- Sunday–Thursday: +£3.00 per hour
- Friday: +£5.00 per hour
- Saturday: +£7.55 per hour (until 30/09/26)
