We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing Business Immigration team, which sits within the Corporate Commercial department. This is a varied role involving client contact, administrative responsibility and assistance with the management of files and applications. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in immigration law within a dynamic and collaborative team environment. This role involves but is not limited to supporting the Business Immigration team with:
- Opening files and handling aspects of client onboarding, including conflict checks, AML checks and engagement letters.
- Responding to new enquiries and ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Preparing, issuing and following up on invoices, and liaising with credit control.
- Drafting immigration application forms, organising application bundles, booking client appointments and uploading supporting documents.
- Drafting documents, letters, Affidavits and Declarations.
- Assisting clients with UKVI account support and general queries.
- Attending client calls and meetings with fee earners.
- Conducting legal research and assisting with drafting advice.
- Liaising with clients and third parties, in a professional and timely manner.
- Supporting the team in managing multiple applications simultaneously and meeting strict UKVI deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file records, ensuring all documents are properly saved, version controlled, and compliant with company policies.
- Managing key date tracking, file closing procedures, ensuring all documents are complete, and updating internal systems accordingly.
- Assisting with marketing, including drafting PowerPoints and web-articles.
Requirements:
- Paralegal, administrative or legal support experience is essential.
- An interest in Business Immigration law is essential. Recent experience is beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proactive, resourceful and client-focused, with a positive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Competent with the full suite of Microsoft Office and experience with a document management system.
