Responsibilities:
- Answer enquiries from potential clients who may have suffered injuries or damages due to medical/clinical negligence.
- Answer all clinical related new business enquiries (calls and e-mails).
- Explain the clinical negligence case assessment process to clients.
- Take details of all prospective enquiries of the circumstances giving rise to the potential claim to enable assessment of whether a case should be taken on or not.
- Complete necessary paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Follow up with prospective clients to advise on whether we can help or not, including signposting where possible.
- Explain funding options of medical/clinical negligence cases where required.
- Provide administrative support to the clinical negligence fee earning team and the specific needs of the clinical negligence department as directed by the Team Lead/Head of New Business/Head of Clinical Negligence/Commercial Director.
- Maintain accurate records of outcomes of new business enquiries and assist in gathering information and evidence related to potential clinical negligence cases and trends with new business enquiries into the firm.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation and case law within clinical negligence cases.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of client cases.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, legal professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards clients who have suffered injuries or damages and explain the legal process relating to their situation clearly and compassionately.
- Accurate use of Case Management Systems as well as Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Accurate data entry into electronic portals during the client introduction process.
- Promote Taylor Rose services to customers and cross-sell legal services within Taylor Rose within the new business teams.
- Understand GDPR requirements for dealing with clients’ personal information.
- Work to department targets and KPIs.
- Assist clients with answering questions and guiding them where necessary on how to progress through the new Client onboarding process.
- Build strong relationships across the accounts managed to help with referrer engagement and continued growth of the department.
Requirements:
- A medical or nursing background would be preferred given the nature of the issues that will be discussed with new business enquiries.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in sales or client development, preferably in a legal or healthcare setting, with a genuine interest in helping people who have suffered injuries or damage due to clinical negligence.
