Our client, a forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants in Newcastle-under-Lyme are seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be AAT Qualified with accountancy practice experience, strong double entry bookkeeping skills, and a good working knowledge of accountancy cloud software (Xero, Sage and/or Quickbooks). You will be working with a varied client base from a range of sectors, providing bookkeeping services and assisting clients with ad hoc queries. Excellent remuneration and benefits package, lots of flexibility, great work life balance and part time considered.

The Role:

  • Preparation of accounts to trial balance
  • Undertaking bookkeeping for clients
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining up to date complete financial records
  • Liaising with multiple clients at any one time, maintaining and developing relationships
  • Dealing with client queries

You:

  • AAT Qualified (ideally), QBE also considered
  • Knowledge of cloud software desirable (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks)
  • Experience of working in practice is essential
  • Strong double entry bookkeeping skills
