Our client, a forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants in Newcastle-under-Lyme are seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be AAT Qualified with accountancy practice experience, strong double entry bookkeeping skills, and a good working knowledge of accountancy cloud software (Xero, Sage and/or Quickbooks). You will be working with a varied client base from a range of sectors, providing bookkeeping services and assisting clients with ad hoc queries.

The Role:
- Preparation of accounts to trial balance
- Undertaking bookkeeping for clients
- Preparing VAT returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Maintaining up to date complete financial records
- Liaising with multiple clients at any one time, maintaining and developing relationships
- Dealing with client queries
You:
- AAT Qualified (ideally)
- QBE also considered
- Knowledge of cloud software desirable (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks)
- Experience of working in practice is essential
- Strong double entry bookkeeping skills
