A fast growing insurance business is seeking an experienced corporate Lawyer (9+ PQE) to be the Head of Corporate Legal reporting to the CEO and working with the C-suite level in a strategic role. This is a senior position that offers considerable scope for progression into a General Counsel/ Chief Legal Officer position within 12-18 months for the right candidate. This highly regarded institution operates on a global scale and is looking to scale up their business significantly in the next few years, making it an exciting time to join.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the corporate legal function, providing expert advice on corporate law matters including company structuring, governance, and regulatory obligations.
- Advise senior leadership on legal aspects of strategic initiatives, including joint ventures, acquisitions, capital raising, and corporate reorganisations.
- Oversee legal support for board and shareholder matters, including drafting resolutions, managing filings, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
- Act as a key liaison with external counsel, regulators, and internal stakeholders on corporate legal issues.
- Support the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, assessing impact and advising the business accordingly.
