A leading multinational within industry is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel - Litigation. The business is looking for a disputes lawyer with a wide variety of experience of cross-border litigation or arbitration to provide a broad range of high-quality legal advice on highly strategic and sensitive matters. You will be dedicated to the resolution of material disputes and investigations across the Group.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Manage high-value or sensitive litigation and arbitration matters across Europe, Americas and Africa.
  • Pre-action advice to business stakeholders, support with negotiating, evaluating and documenting settlements.
  • Help identify problem areas and spot trends to minimise exposure to litigation risks.
  • Work alongside other key business functions and stakeholders to ensure effective management.
  • Partner with regional and global legal teams to ensure alignment with group-wide legal strategies and best practices.

About you:

  • UK or US qualified disputes lawyer with a minimum of 4 PQE, with a wide variety of experience of cross-border litigation or arbitration.
  • Trained at an international law firm with some in-house experience gained on secondment or in a position at a multinational.
  • Comfortable working on an autonomous basis, strong business acumen, high quality drafting and comfortable reporting to C-suite are all paramount to perform well in this function.
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic and solution-focused legal advice.
