A leading, FCA-regulated investment management firm is seeking to hire a Deputy Risk Officer in London. The firm is part of a global asset management group specialising in emerging markets strategies, with a strong track record across public and private investments.

This newly created role will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer and will focus primarily on liquid investment strategies within a large, established hedge fund platform (>$1bn AUM). This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team and play a key role in a growing and dynamic organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide global oversight of back-office operations
  • Manage cash processes and forecast future liquidity requirements
  • Deliver fully reconciled portfolios
  • Monitor and explain portfolio P&L
  • Oversee NAV calculations
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Develop and maintain custom reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Produce daily risk reporting (e.g., VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis)
  • Support audit workflows and documentation
  • Maintain financial and regulatory compliance documentation
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as required
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Postgraduate qualification in a finance-related field preferred
  • CFA Charterholder or actively progressing toward completion
  • Strong academic track record
Required Skills
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in quantitative or risk-focused roles
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members preferred
  • Strong hands-on experience with Excel-based modelling
  • Experience in risk analytics/modelling
  • Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to legal, compliance, or regulatory frameworks
  • Accounting or audit experience
  • Excel VBA or programming skills
  • Knowledge of financial markets and traded instruments
  • Additional language skills (e.g., French) beneficial
