Leveraged Finance Associate (2–4 PQE) in Slough

An elite US law firm is seeking a Leveraged Finance Associate to join its highly regarded London finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high‑value transactions within a market‑leading global platform, advising top‑tier private equity sponsors and financial institutions.

The Team:

The firm’s leveraged finance practice is widely recognised for its role in high‑profile, cross‑border transactions, particularly in the private equity space. The London team forms a core part of the firm’s global finance offering, working closely with colleagues across the US and other international offices to deliver fully integrated advice on complex financings.

The practice covers a broad spectrum of leveraged and acquisition finance matters and is particularly known for its involvement in large‑cap sponsor‑driven transactions and sophisticated capital structures.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be involved in advising on a range of leveraged finance transactions, with a strong focus on sponsor‑led deal activity.

Work will include:

• Leveraged and acquisition financings
• Refinancings and restructuring of existing debt arrangements
• Advising on complex and multi‑layered capital structures
• Acting for both sponsors and lenders across cross‑border transactions

The role offers exposure to high‑stakes matters and the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners on technically challenging work.

Key Responsibilities:

The Associate will:

• Support the structuring and execution of leveraged finance transactions
• Draft, review and negotiate financing documentation
• Work closely with sponsors, lenders and stakeholders to progress deals efficiently
• Assist in the management of transactions from initial stages through to completion
• Collaborate with international teams on multi‑jurisdictional matters
• Contribute to the delivery of commercially focused advice in a fast‑paced environment

About the Candidate:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• 2–4 years’ post‑qualification experience
• Strong experience in leveraged finance or acquisition finance
• Exposure to sponsor‑side transactions and complex financing arrangements
• Excellent technical ability alongside sound commercial judgement
• The ability to operate effectively within a high‑performance, deadline‑driven environment
• Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative approach
