Our Client: A global banking group is seeking a 3PQE+ Regulatory lawyer to join the team supporting the business on cross border matters. This team has a truly varied workload as they cover various locations within the EMEA business. The successful candidate will be providing strategic legal advice on existing and new products and all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic regulatory legal advice to Sales & Trading business across EMEA.
  • You will be a key contact for the team advising on a range of matters including derivatives, repo products etc.
  • Engage and collaborate with internal teams, including compliance, risk, technology, and product development, providing them with regulatory guidance.
  • Anticipate and identify key regulatory obligations and integrity risks, and ensure these are addressed in a practical and scalable way.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel when required.

The successful candidate:

  • 3PQE+ Qualified Regulatory lawyer with experience working in a law firm or financial services firm in a derivatives trading context.
  • Experience advising on regulations like EMIR, MiFiD, SEC and CFTC rules.
  • Analytical and critical thinker who finds creative solutions for complex regulatory challenges enabling business opportunities while staying in control.
  • *Candidates with equivalent experience outside of the PQE will be considered for this role.
