A top-tier law firm with a market-leading Financial Services Regulatory practice is seeking to hire a Financial Services Regulatory Lawyer (3+ PQE) as part of the continued growth of its high-performing London team.
You will join a specialist platform known for:
- Advising on complex regulatory frameworks impacting UK and international financial institutions, fintechs, and payment providers
- Supporting major corporate and strategic transactions with integrated regulatory advice
- Delivering cutting-edge guidance on payments and e-money regulation (including PSD2, safeguarding and open banking)
- Advising on Consumer Duty, governance and conduct regimes, and new product launches
- Acting for an impressive client base ranging from global banks and asset managers to high-growth fintech companies
- Operating at the forefront of innovation in retail financial services, payments, and digital markets
This is a high-profile practice helping clients navigate a fast-evolving financial regulatory landscape, combining technical excellence with commercial pragmatism.
The Role
You will advise on a broad range of sophisticated regulatory matters, including:
- FCA regulation and authorisation projects for new market entrants and fintechs
- Payments and e-money compliance, including PSD2 implementation and safeguarding requirements
- Consumer finance and retail regulation, including Consumer Duty and financial promotions
- Designing and implementing governance and compliance frameworks for regulated firms
- Advising on regulatory risk in M&A and strategic transactions
- Working on cross-border matters with colleagues across Europe, US, and APAC
You will work closely with the firm’s senior partners and take on early client responsibility, gaining exposure to cutting-edge work in an innovative sector.
About You
The team is seeking outstanding candidates who:
- Are UK-qualified (or equivalent) with 3+ PQE in financial services regulatory law
- Have experience advising on the FCA Handbook and regulatory compliance
- Bring exposure to payments, fintech, e-money or consumer finance (highly desirable)
- Demonstrate strong technical ability combined with commercial judgement
- Thrive working within a collaborative, international platform on high-profile matters
