Taylor Root is delighted to be working with a leading National law firm that's looking to hire a mid-level or senior associate into is Data, Privacy & Cyber team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with an impressive client base including multinational corporates, technology businesses, major consumer brands and innovative start-ups on complex and business-critical data privacy matters.

The Role

You will advise clients across a broad range of data protection, privacy and cyber issues, including:

  • GDPR and UK data protection compliance.
  • Workplace privacy matters, including employee monitoring, surveillance and internal privacy policies.
  • Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and wider data rights issues.
  • Data processing agreements, vendor onboarding and privacy impact assessments.
  • Ad Tech, digital marketing, profiling, cookies and use of personal data.
  • International data transfers, standard contractual clauses and transfer risk assessments.
  • Data breach management, cyber incidents and regulatory investigations.
  • AI governance programmes, risk assessments and policy development.
  • Privacy governance projects, including policy implementation and privacy-by-design initiatives.

About You

  • Qualified lawyer with
  • 4+ years' PQE in data, privacy and cyber,
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU data protection laws.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
  • Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Confident managing client relationships and taking ownership of matters.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to team success.
