We have recently seen an increase in the Competition & Antitrust area with firms looking to grow their practices. A great opportunity has arisen for a Competition Associate, junior to mid-level, to join an ambitious leading UK international competition practice. The role offers a high level of client exposure, involvement in strategic matters, and the chance to work closely with experienced senior lawyers across a variety of competition and regulatory issues. You will take an active role in client matters, gaining continuous exposure to both advisory and contentious work.
Key responsibilities:
- Working on the full spectrum of UK and EU competition law matters, including merger control, foreign investment reviews, public enforcement work, and advising on commercial agreements.
- Supporting on competition investigations and follow-on damages litigation.
- Contributing to compliance and regulatory advisory work across a range of industries.
- Managing elements of client relationships with appropriate partner support.
- Taking part in business development initiatives and helping strengthen the team’s market presence.
Skills and experience:
- UK-qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with approximately 2–4 years PQE.
- Experience of EU and UK competition law across some or all of the following areas: merger control, foreign investment, investigations, agreements, behavioural matters, and competition litigation.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Commercial mindset and good financial awareness.
- Confident working directly with clients.
- Interest in business development and building external relationships.
- Strong academic background.
