A leading financial services business is looking to appoint a Head of Regulatory Legal / Senior Legal Counsel on a 12-month Contract. This role would suit an experienced regulatory lawyer looking to shape regulatory strategy and influence business decisions across the EMEA region.
As a trusted adviser to senior executives and business leaders, you'll provide strategic guidance on complex regulatory matters, regulatory change, market infrastructure developments, cross-border activities, and new business initiatives.
Key duties will include:
- Leading the EMEA Regulatory Legal function
- Advising senior stakeholders on UK and EU financial services regulation
- Supporting major regulatory change programmes and business transformation initiatives
- Providing guidance on new products, trading platforms, market infrastructure and operating models
- Advising on licensing, permissions, cross-border activities and digital asset regulation
- Managing regulatory investigations and engagement with regulators and industry bodies
- Partnering with legal, compliance and business teams globally to deliver consistent regulatory advice
You will be a qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with 10+ years' PQE within a leading law firm and/or financial services organisation. Expertise in UK and EU financial services regulation, including MiFID II, SMCR, REMIT and emerging cryptoasset frameworks. Proven experience advising on complex regulatory change and multi-jurisdictional matters is essential combined with strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence at Executive and Board level.
