About the company:

A leading multinational within industry is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel. This exciting role will be part of the Group Legal function, reporting into the Associate General Counsel. This fantastic role will be part of the UK & Ireland Senior Leadership Team.

As Legal Counsel will provide support across the Group, with responsibility for the UK and Ireland business. You will act as a legal business partner on all key legal issues and strategic projects. Additionally, you will also collaborate closely with the wider Group Legal team to support on strategic cross jurisdictional initiatives. The role is based in Milton Keynes.

About the role:

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing commercially focussed legal advice across a wide range of commercial and corporate agreements.
  • Driving critical business decisions with key stakeholder input.
  • Obtaining external legal counsel advice on critical legal issues including in relation to disputes and managing litigation, as well as challenging and reviewing the same.
  • Executing transactional and operational legal aspects of each project and their lifecycles.
  • Partnering with Project Teams throughout the wider business transformation program to ensure alignment between legal and business requirements.

Who You Are:

  • A legal professional with at least 5+ years' experience, preferably gained in a leading international law firm or in-house in the industrial sector or with industrial sector clients.
  • Corporate, commercial and/or M&A exposure and experience demonstrating a wider understanding of the key commercial transactional matters.
  • Business focus and with a balanced approach to risks analysis in the context of the business.
  • Strong organisational and management skills with a proven ability to manage and influence both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinking with a proactive "get things done" attitude.
