A leading financial services client of ours is seeking a highly skilled Funds Lawyer to join their dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex fund structures, advising on the legal and regulatory aspects of retail investment funds, and collaborating with key stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on the structuring, establishment, and ongoing operation of retail investment funds, including UCITS, SICAVs and other regulated fund vehicles.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, including UCITS Directive, FCA rules, etc.
- Drafting and negotiating fund documentation, including prospectuses, investment management agreements, distribution agreements, and regulatory disclosures.
- Providing strategic legal advice on fund governance, investor relations, and regulatory developments.
- Liaising with regulators, external counsel, and industry bodies to stay ahead of market trends and legal developments.
- Supporting internal teams on fund-related matters, including tax, compliance, and risk management.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years of post-qualification experience in investment funds, financial services, or asset management law.
- Strong understanding of UCITS and retail fund structures.
- Experience advising on regulatory matters affecting retail funds, including MiFID, PRIIPs, and SFDR.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
*Candidates outside of the specified PQE bracket with the prerequisite experience would be considered for this role.
