Job Description
We are now slowly entering an active phase for Newly Qualified (NQ) recruitment and are beginning to see a steady influx of NQ opportunities, particularly within transactional practice areas and US law firms- from elite Cravath-paying firms to mid-market US practices.
Based on previous years, these areas have been in high demand amongst trainees and for lateral hires, for March NQ recruitment. As we get closer to winter, we expect Magic Circle, Top-Tier International and National firms to ramp up their hiring as well.
- Leveraged finance
- REF
- Structured finance and capital markets
- Private funds
- Corporate tax or corporate insurance
- M&A and PE (mixed or separate practices)
- Restructuring
- Real estate
- Construction (contentious & non-contentious)
- Corporate real estate
- CLO's
- Derivatives
- Arbitration
- Employment & Pensions
Based on the rapid upturn in market activity and the earlier timeline shift for NQ recruitment, now is a good time to have a conversation and assess external options – in case anything is of interest now or for future reference and connections.

- Completing training contracts at Top50 firms, qualifying between January and May 2026.
- At least 6 months of experience in any of the above areas
- Strong academics with 2:1 (Minimum)
