We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to join our 2nd Line of Defence (2LOD) risk function. This role sits within the Enterprise Risk team and provides broad oversight across market, credit, liquidity, operational, and strategic risk. The position offers exposure to international regulatory bodies, including work with the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), while remaining distinctly non-compliance in focus. This is an excellent opportunity for a well‑rounded risk professional looking to broaden their remit across the full enterprise risk spectrum within a global insurance/reinsurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver independent 2LOD oversight across the full Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, providing challenge, insight, and effective review across major risk categories including market, credit, liquidity, operational and strategic risk.
- Lead risk monitoring, analysis and reporting across capital, liquidity and operational risk, supporting risk reviews, dashboards, stress testing and strengthening risk methodologies and governance.
- Act as a key regulatory interface, including engagement with the Bermuda Monetary Authority, managing risk‑related regulatory interactions, submissions and reviews while working alongside internal compliance specialists (this role does not perform compliance duties).
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across London and international functions, providing clear risk insights to underwriting, actuarial, finance, reinsurance and operational leadership teams.
- Support enterprise capital and actuarial risk activities, contributing to capital modelling discussions, scenario analysis, risk appetite development and emerging risk assessments.
Experience Requirements
- Strong 2LOD (or 3LOD) enterprise risk experience with broad exposure across market, credit, liquidity, operational and/or strategic risk.
- Regulatory and stakeholder engagement exposure, comfortable working with regulators (ideally including BMA or equivalent) and senior leadership teams.
- Experience in capital, actuarial or reinsurance/insurance risk; capital modelling familiarity is an advantage but not essential.
What We’re Looking For
A risk generalist with the ability to operate across the entire ERM landscape. Someone who can bring strong analytical thinking, mature judgement, and effective challenge. A collaborative team player who can work with cross‑border teams, regulators, and senior stakeholders. Someone comfortable working in a dynamic environment with broad, evolving responsibilities.
