A global financial services organisation is seeking a senior lawyer to lead a key UK consumer products legal team. This is a high-profile position within a well-established in-house function, supporting a broad credit and payments business. The role offers significant exposure to product innovation and customer strategy and can be based in Nottingham and London, with time spent across both locations.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across marketing, operations, customer strategy and risk, providing pragmatic advice on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. This includes consumer lending, payments, open banking and consumer duty, alongside oversight of disputes, litigation and financial crime. The role will also play a central part in supporting new product development, regulatory change and horizon scanning, partnering with compliance and risk teams, and managing external counsel where required. In addition, you will contribute to wider team leadership and development initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with c.10+ years’ PQE and strong experience in financial services, ideally within consumer lending or payments. A deep understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including FCA requirements and consumer duty, is essential, alongside proven team leadership experience and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.

You will demonstrate strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
