We’re hiring a Commercial Counsel to join a high‑growth, global SaaS business operating at the forefront of data‑driven customer engagement and AI‑enabled technology. This is a fully remote role with responsibility for leading complex commercial negotiations across UK, EMEA and APAC, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Revenue, Finance, Security and Procurement.

The Role
You’ll act as the primary legal partner for go‑to‑market teams, owning high‑value commercial negotiations and advising on privacy, security and AI‑related compliance in a dynamic, international environment. This is a senior role for someone comfortable balancing risk with commercial outcomes and helping the business scale through practical, solutions‑focused legal support.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading negotiations on complex, revenue‑generating agreements (including MSAs, DPAs and enterprise SaaS contracts)
- Supporting vendor, partner and procurement agreements across multiple jurisdictions
- Advising stakeholders on data protection, privacy, security and AI governance matters
- Interpreting and shaping business responses to evolving European regulation (including GDPR, ePrivacy and emerging AI and digital frameworks)
- Building scalable legal infrastructure – templates, playbooks and processes to support growth
- Training and enabling commercial teams on contract process, compliance and risk
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior EMEA leadership on strategic initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years’ in‑house commercial legal experience, ideally within a SaaS or technology business
- Strong experience negotiating enterprise technology agreements and DPAs
- Deep working knowledge of GDPR and EU data protection frameworks
- Familiarity with AI, data and digital regulation (or strong interest in developing expertise)
- Qualified to practice in‑house in the UK or another EMEA jurisdiction
- Confident communicator with executive presence and strong stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
- Pragmatic, solutions‑oriented approach to risk and deal‑making
Nice to Have
- CIPP/E or similar data privacy certification
- French or German language skills
- Experience working with or experimenting with AI tools
Location & Working Model
Fully remote (UK‑based). Occasional travel may be required (up to ~10%).
