A leading financial services organisation is looking to hire a Legal Counsel with a technology bias. The role is a 12-month contract.

Key duties:

  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of legal agreements, with a focus on contracts relating to information technology, data, artificial intelligence and third-party services including, but not limited to, software licences, SaaS agreements, support and maintenance agreements and IT resource agreements.
  • Serve as the primary legal contact for the IT, Operations/Transformation and Procurement teams, providing proactive advice, support and strategic guidance to the business to achieve its goals and mitigate legal risks in those areas.
  • Provide guidance on the legal risks associated with proposed AI use cases in line with applicable Artificial Intelligence (AI) laws and regulations and ensure any AI use cases are approved in line with the internal AI Policy.
  • Keep up to date with legal developments, with a focus on evolving AI laws and regulations.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years PQE (Commonwealth or equivalent) with solid contracts experience relating to IT, AI, data and third-party services. You will be a team player, with excellent communication skills. The role will offer great quality work and excellent exposure to senior management.
