Taylor Root is working with an early-stage technology business looking for a sole lawyer. They need someone who can start immediately, and be with them for an initial 6 month period. The role is an interim opportunity to start with that could go on for longer.

European founded, this business has a strong presence in the US so open to having someone who’s US qualified as well as those who are UK qualified. This is a role where you’ll be working with the c-suite and founders on primarily corporate legal matters. They need someone who comes from a strong corporate practice within a law firm, and ideally someone who’s worked with more nascent businesses who are looking at fundraising and transactions.

This can be someone coming straight from private practice. However in-house experience is advantageous (this can be via secondments, or strong stakeholder management experience). You need to be adept at working across geographies, jurisdictions, and liaising between external counsel and senior stakeholders within the business.

Whilst the focus of the role is principally on the corporate side, you will probably be brought into work including commercial contracts, data privacy, employment etc., but they’re happy to have someone who can upskill into that experience.

Profile required:

  • Qualified lawyer, UK or US, with at least 6+ years’ post qualification experience.
  • Strong experience within the corporate practice at a law firm.
  • Business oriented approach, proactive, and strong technically.
