A leading global financial services firm is looking for a senior employment lawyer to head up their employment legal functions. As the head of the team, you will have line management responsibility working closely with the senior stakeholder team supporting the firm's strategy on a cross-border basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the lead lawyer providing expert legal advice on employment law matters.
  • Key focus on non-contentious and contentious employment law related matters across EMEA, including recruitment, performance management, terminations, restrictive covenants, immigration etc.
  • Supporting with contractual matters.
  • Work closely with their People Operations teams to develop and improve employment processes and procedures.
  • Opportunities to serve as a legal advisor on a wide variety of business initiatives and transactions across the region both inside and outside the employment law area, with a strong focus on London/EMEA.
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams across various departments.
  • Managing and liaising with external counsel when required.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be a 10+ PQE employment lawyer, preferably with experience in a law firm, or in-house.
  • Prior experience advising on non-contentious and contentious matters would be advantageous for the role.
  • Financial services experience is not a prerequisite.
  • Collaborative, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Candidates outside of this PQE range with the prerequisite experience would be considered for this role.
