Our client is a major law firm seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer in London. An engaging, high-impact employment law position at the heart of a sophisticated inβhouse legal function within a major law firm. This position involves strategic guidance on employment matters, risk mitigation, policy development and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage contentious employment matters, develop litigation strategies, mitigate legal risks, and oversee dispute resolution.
- Coordinate and advise on sensitive employment-related investigations, delivering strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Prepare, review and negotiate complex employment documentation (contracts, mobility terms, separations, waivers, indemnities, etc.).
- Work with external counsel across EMEA to ensure alignment with varied employment laws and regulatory requirements.
- Track and interpret new or pending employment legislation and advise on strategic implications.
- Create and implement employment-related policies and processes consistent with legal and organisational objectives.
- Review employment-law provisions in commercial contracts and advise on workforce-related aspects such as TUPE and international equivalents.
- Supervise junior legal team members and support their development.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and willingness to work with laws across various EMEA jurisdictions.
- Ability to collaborate with senior leaders and manage cross-departmental initiatives.
- Law degree and active legal practice qualification.
- Experience as an employment lawyer (including private-practice experience and preferably in-house exposure).
