Data Protection Officer (DPO) – Multiverse (Exclusive Search)

Multiverse is building the upskilling platform for AI and tech adoption — partnering with 1,500+ organisations and helping customers drive measurable ROI through workforce capability.

As the business continues to scale, they’re hiring a Data Protection Officer to help shape what “modern privacy” looks like inside a genuinely AI-first company.

This is not a role that’s obsessed with where you worked last, whether you’re legally-qualified, or how traditional your CV looks.

It is a role for someone commercially minded, high-energy, and excited to sit close to the product and technology — taking an already strong privacy function, with a big opportunity to evolve and reimagine it.

The opportunity

You’ll inherit a small high function team and have the autonomy to shape the privacy & AI Governance roadmap for a fast-scaling global business.

You’ll be trusted to balance pace and practicality: enabling growth, while building a privacy programme that holds up with customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning and rolling out a global privacy framework, embedded across the organisation
  • Working closely with Product, Engineering and Sales, so privacy supports progress rather than slowing it down
  • Leading DPIAs across new and emerging AI features
  • Managing international data transfers, and keeping the approach scalable as the product evolves
  • Supporting operational privacy work including DSARs and security incidents
  • Assessing vendors to strengthen ongoing compliance and manage supply chain risk
  • Contributing to ISO 27001 recertification work
  • Supporting cross-functional projects where data, risk and product delivery collide

What Multiverse is looking for

  • Commercial judgement — someone who can explain the “why” internally and the “how” externally
  • Someone who’s genuinely interested in AI and how LLMs and modern data processing can be done responsibly
  • A builder: comfortable moving from strategy into execution, fast
  • Confident making decisions, setting direction, and helping others move fast without taking shortcuts

Multiverse are 3 days a week in Paddington\’s WeWork (which is fully kitted out)

Salary & package has been well benchmarked, includes bonus & equity (ask me for more deatils on comp!)

27 days holiday + 5 personal/ additional company days

Private Medical + wellness resources

Work from anywhere 10 days per year
