The Client: We are working with a fast growing, innovative organisation in the payments space to appoint a 5-10PQE Commercial Lawyer to support its expanding UK and international operations. This is an opportunity to join a high growth, driven business operating at the forefront of digital payments, where legal plays a key role in enabling commercial strategy.
The role: You will sit closely with the business, advising on a broad range of commercial and payments related matters, including:
- Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements (supplier, customer, merchant services agreements and partnership contracts)
- Advising on new and existing payments products and services, including merchant acquiring, PSP arrangements, and fintech partnerships
- Supporting on strategic commercial initiatives and new product launches
- Collaborating with stakeholders across product, sales, and operations
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified lawyer in England and Wales, Europe or common law jurisdictions
- Strong experience in commercial contracts from private practice or in-house
- Exposure to payments, fintech, or financial services (highly desirable)
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting payments
- Commercial, pragmatic mindset with the ability to work closely with non legal stakeholders
