A leading European passenger transport business is looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its Group Legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (start date end of August/September).
This is a broad growth-focused role supporting strategic initiatives across the UK and Europe, including M&A activity, major tender opportunities, commercial contracts and corporate acquisitions.
The role
Support corporate transactions, acquisitions and business development activity.
Review and advise on tender documentation, concession agreements and associated contracts.
Assess legal and commercial risk and recommend practical solutions.
Provide day-to-day legal guidance to stakeholders across the business.
Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Tax, Treasury and external legal advisers.
Contribute to wider Group Legal initiatives and governance projects.
The ideal candidate
Qualified lawyer, upwards 3 to 5 years PQE.
Corporate, commercial and/or M&A experience from private practice or in-house.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable managing competing priorities.
Procurement or tendering experience would be useful, but is not essential.
