A leading UK law firm is seeking a Risk Lawyer to join its established Risk & Compliance team, working closely with senior risk, compliance, and claims stakeholders across the firm. The role focuses on managing a broad range of professional risk matters, including claims, complaints, regulatory issues, and wider advisory support. You will play a key role in protecting the firm and supporting fee earners through complex and sensitive issues. Part time applicants will also be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing internal notifications of potential claims and risk issues
- Investigating matter files and liaising with fee earners and senior stakeholders
- Managing professional indemnity claims, including liaison with insurers and external advisers
- Overseeing and responding to formal client complaints within regulatory timeframes
- Acting as a point of contact for regulators such as the Legal Ombudsman and SRA where required
- Maintaining accurate registers and schedules of live claims and complaints
- Supporting management reporting, training, and risk awareness across the firm
- Assisting with insurance renewals, including preparing claims and exposure summaries
- Supporting responses to DSARs and other regulatory information requests
- Advising on debt matters where conduct or risk issues arise
