Taylor Root is instructed by a leading Magic Circle firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate (1–7 PQE) into the Real Estate Finance team in London. The practice is known for advising on some of the most sophisticated real estate finance transactions in the market. The team regularly works with a diverse range of lenders and borrowers (including banks, sovereigns, alternative credit providers, REITs and funds) and is recognised for its commercial insight, technical excellence and ability to deliver innovative solutions on complex, often cross-border matters.
The Role
You will work across a wide range of real estate finance matters including investment and development financing, syndicated and bilateral lending, acquisition finance involving real estate assets, and refinancing transactions. The position offers exposure to high-value deals and the opportunity to collaborate closely with colleagues across finance, corporate and real estate groups.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting and negotiating loan and security documentation
- Advising clients strategically
- Managing transaction workstreams
- Coordinating with specialist teams
- For seniors, supervising junior lawyers
- Contributing to business development and knowledge initiatives within the practice
Key Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 1–7 PQE in real estate finance or broader banking/finance with real estate exposure
- Strong technical understanding of financing structures and documentation including LMA experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong project-management abilities
- Commercial, solutions-focused approach and collaborative mindset
