Role: Legal Counsel

Location: Berkshire/Buckinghamshire area

Hybrid working model: 2 days in the office each week

I have a great opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join an AIM-listed world-leading provider of technology. The Legal team are looking for a Legal Counsel who specialises in IP and has an IP background to join their mid-sized commercial team. The successful candidate will have a stellar training background from a well-recognised law firm and be motivated to move into an in-house role (if not in one already).

Reporting into the Head of Legal, this role involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of global contracts, including patent services, SaaS, software licensing, data processing, and procurement agreements. You’ll advise on IP ownership, licensing, and rights related to data, algorithms, and AI outputs, and support business development and procurement teams in structuring compliant AI collaborations.

You’ll also provide strategic advice on the Group’s IP portfolio—covering patents, trademarks, and copyrights—work closely with product teams to identify patentable inventions and manage IP-related disputes. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and guiding deals through internal approval processes.
