The client: A unique opportunity has arisen with a leading global insurer for a lawyer with insurance litigation experience. As an experienced insurance litigator, you will support the senior stakeholders with front-end advice on high value insurance and reinsurance policies to identify potential gaps/pitfalls before they are issued. The role will be so much more, see below for details! This individual will become a crucial member of the legal team, advising senior stakeholders across the business globally.
Key responsibilities:
- Engage with the claims team who will seek informal advice on various matters.
- Stay informed about ongoing claims and provide insights to help underwriters prevent similar issues in the future.
- Provide advice, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial and underwriting agreements, including policy wordings.
- Assist underwriters when they act as insurers for specific accounts by ensuring the insurance agreements are accurately worded in a way to avoid future litigation.
- Provide training to the business on upcoming changes in legislation and how it impacts their products and underwriting/claims processes.
The successful candidate:
- Qualified lawyer with 6 years'+ experience as an insurance litigator gained in-house and/or in private practice.
- Solid understanding of insurance law would be highly preferable but not a prerequisite.
