A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Debt Finance Associate to join its growing general banking practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, high-performing team that advises a diverse client base on a broad range of debt finance transactions. The role offers real responsibility, early client contact, and the chance to develop across multiple workstreams within a supportive and engaging environment. You will work with UK and international banks, debt funds, investment companies, private equity houses, corporate borrowers, funds and trustees. The Team: The Debt Finance team advises on a full spectrum of transactional debt matters, including:
- Corporate lending (secured and unsecured)
- Acquisition and leveraged finance
- Real estate finance
- Asset-based lending
- Debt restructurings and non-contentious distressed matters
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of finance documents
- Managing transactions with appropriate support from senior lawyers
- Regular interaction with clients and counterparties
- Building strong internal and external relationships
- Supporting business development initiatives
- Supervising and supporting junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals
- Taking an active role in end-to-end transaction management
About You:
- Qualified solicitor with relevant post-qualification experience in UK banking and finance
- Experience in general lending is essential; exposure to any of acquisition finance, real estate finance or general banking is highly desirable
- Strong technical understanding and ability to apply up-to-date legal knowledge
- Excellent drafting, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise effectively
- Collaborative mindset and ability to build rapport across teams
- Enthusiasm for business development and growing client relationships
