A leading European passenger transport business is looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its Group Legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (start date end of August/September). This is a broad growth-focused role supporting strategic initiatives across the UK and Europe, including M&A activity, major tender opportunities, commercial contracts and corporate acquisitions.
The role:
- Support corporate transactions, acquisitions and business development activity.
- Review and advise on tender documentation, concession agreements and associated contracts.
- Assess legal and commercial risk and recommend practical solutions.
- Provide day-to-day legal guidance to stakeholders across the business.
- Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Tax, Treasury and external legal advisers.
- Contribute to wider Group Legal initiatives and governance projects.
The ideal candidate:
- Qualified lawyer, upwards 3 to 5 years PQE.
- Corporate, commercial and/or M&A experience from private practice or in-house.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Procurement or tendering experience would be useful, but is not essential.
