An opportunity has arisen for a Construction Lawyer to join a modern, people-focused firm offering high-quality work, genuine client exposure and a clear platform for progression. The role sits within the firm’s broader real estate offering, which has particular strength in development and corporate occupier matters.

The construction team is highly regarded for its work on complex, design-led projects, with a strong focus on advising occupiers and supporting sophisticated development work. This is a predominantly non-contentious position with exposure to high-quality matters across a diverse client base, including developers, corporate occupiers, landlords, tenants, lenders and consultants. The team is particularly active in office HQ relocations, fit-outs, mixed-use developments and refurbishment projects across sectors such as retail, hospitality and leisure.

You will advise on the full lifecycle of construction projects - from procurement strategy through to completion - working closely with real estate colleagues and other specialist teams to deliver commercially focused advice. The work will include drafting and negotiating building contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC), consultant appointments, collateral warranties and associated security documentation, as well as supporting on development transactions, agreements for lease and licences to alter. There is also scope to be involved in risk management and dispute avoidance, with some exposure to contentious matters where relevant.

About you

  • The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years PQE.
  • Solid non-contentious construction experience gained at a recognised city or regional firm.
  • Strong drafting ability, and a commercial, solutions-driven approach.
  • A willingness to engage in business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Experience advising occupiers on fit-out or relocation projects would be advantageous.

The firm offers a competitive salary package, starting from c.£110k and rising strongly with experience, alongside a manageable 1,200 billable hours target. There is a flexible hybrid working model (typically 2–3 days in the office) and a clear, supported progression pathway within a genuinely collaborative team environment.
