An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced risk and compliance professional to step into a senior leadership role within an international law firm environment. As Associate Director of Business Acceptance, you will play a key role in overseeing the firm’s business acceptance framework across multiple jurisdictions. This is a strategic and hands-on position, combining leadership, regulatory oversight, and commercial decision-making.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across risk, compliance, and legal teams globally, acting as a trusted advisor on complex AML, conflicts, and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of new business intake, including AML, conflicts, and engagement terms
  • Ensure compliance with AML regulations across the UK and international offices
  • Take ownership of firm-wide risk assessments, audits, and regulatory interactions, including SRA
  • Act as Deputy MLRO, managing suspicious activity reporting processes
  • Serve as Anti-Bribery & Corruption Officer and Sanctions Officer
  • Oversee conflicts processes, ensuring alignment with UK and international regulatory requirements
  • Lead and develop a team
  • Partner with global stakeholders to resolve cross-border conflicts and compliance matters
  • Drive improvements in processes, systems, and technology within the intake function
Key Skills and Experience
  • Senior-level experience in risk and compliance within an international law firm
  • Strong knowledge of AML regulations, SRA requirements, and risk governance
  • Proven expertise in conflicts management, including exposure to both UK and US frameworks
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across jurisdictions
