Our client is an elite US law firm. The London office is a key hub for its global litigation practice, working closely with colleagues in the US, Europe, and Asia. The London IP litigation team is known for its work across intellectual property and technology disputes, advising clients in sectors including software, life sciences, cloud computing, telecommunications, and AI. The group regularly acts in cases before the English High Court and appellate courts, as well as in international arbitration and cross-border enforcement programs.
The London IP litigation team comprises two highly regarded partners, two mid-level associates, and one junior associate. The partners are recognised for their expertise in complex IP and technology disputes and cross-border litigation, with experience spanning software development, licensing, and life sciences. The team also advises on IP crossover issues such as breach of contract, misuse of data, and reputational threats. Recent mandates include acting in multi-jurisdictional patent infringement actions, advising on trade secret disputes in the technology sector, and managing global IP enforcement strategies for major corporates.
This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of high-profile matters. The successful candidate will:
- Advise on contentious IP matters (both soft and hard IP)
- Draft pleadings and submissions for proceedings before the English courts and tribunals
- Manage complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation and liaise with international counsel
- Work closely with partners and contribute to strategic case planning
- Engage directly with clients and support business development initiatives
Candidate Profile:
- England & Wales qualified solicitor
- 2–3 years’ PQE in IP litigation, ideally gained at a leading international or specialist firm
- Strong experience in soft IP litigation. Experience in patent litigation is not essential.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and project management skills
- Commercial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
