A leading Top 50 International City Law Firm is looking to hire a Business Immigration Solicitor (4+ PQE) to join its highly regarded Business Immigration team on a 12‑month fixed term contract. The team is consistently recognised in legal directories for its excellence and handles high‑quality UK and global corporate immigration work.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced immigration lawyer looking for a hands‑on, high‑calibre interim role in a leading City environment.

Key Responsibilities

As an Immigration Solicitor, you will work on a broad range of corporate and business immigration matters, including:

  • Advising corporate clients on sponsor licence applications and work visa processes
  • Handling Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility (GBM) and other working visa categories
  • Leading immigration audits, mock audits and compliance projects
  • Reviewing application forms and supporting documents for accuracy and legal compliance
  • Coordinating global immigration work with local counsel across multiple jurisdictions
  • Advising on business visitor routes and emerging visa categories
  • Supporting HR teams on secondment visas and internal immigration queries
  • Using legal tech platforms to manage workflows, documentation and reminders
  • Working cross‑departmentally with Employment, Corporate, Tax, Real Estate, IP and Data Protection teams
  • Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers, trainees and apprentices
About You

You are a strong match for this role if:

  • You are a Qualified Solicitor with ideally 4 PQE or above, with solid business immigration experience gained at a firm that is highly regarded in business immigration.
  • You have a strong academic background and excellent analytical skills
  • You have experience across Skilled Worker, GBM routes, sponsor licensing, compliance, ILR and naturalisation
  • You can identify and assess risk, offering commercial and pragmatic solutions
  • You are a clear communicator with excellent attention to detail
  • You thrive in a collaborative team but can work independently where required
  • You build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • You are commercially aware and realistic when advising clients
  • Experience from a Band 1 or Band 2 immigration practice is desirable but not essential
