Our client is a global law firm who is seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join its internal risk function. In this role you will work on a broad range of legal, ethical, business, and strategic matters, with a strong focus on drafting and negotiating complex client‑facing contracts. The role involves advising senior stakeholders, managing contractual risks, and collaborating with multiple business teams including Finance, Business Development, Information Security, and Culture & Inclusion. The position is based in London and follows a hybrid working pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements across various sectors.
- Ensuring client contracts adhere to ethical obligations and internal policies.
- Identifying legal and business risks within client contracts and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Advising senior colleagues on client requirements and commercial requests.
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of templates, playbooks, and external communications.
- Assisting with responses to client compliance or risk‑related audits.
- Contributing to improving the efficiency and scalability of the internal commercial legal function.
- Working closely with teams across the organisation, including operational and professional services groups.
- Guiding and supervising administrative staff supporting the broader risk function.
