Job Title: Company Secretarial Assistant
Location: North East England

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
An established organisation in the passenger transport sector is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused individual to join as Company Secretarial Assistant. This role supports the legal and governance functions, ensuring compliance with corporate obligations and contributing to the smooth running of the governance framework.

Responsibilities
- Support compliance with the Companies Act and related UK legislation, including statutory filings and director changes
- Assist in preparing governance content for annual reports (e.g. Section 172 statements, Wates statements)
- Coordinate board and committee support, compile and distribute board packs, and take minutes
- Maintain statutory registers and records for UK legal entities
- Provide company secretarial input on corporate projects and assist with execution and KYC requests
- Support treasury approvals related to collateral documentation
- Monitor developments in UK company law and governance best practice
Requirements
- Experience in a company secretariat team with knowledge of the Companies Act and UK governance
- Advocate of good governance and board/entity management best practices
- Ability to build relationships across functions and jurisdictions
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and professionalism
- High integrity and discretion with sensitive information
- Collaborative and proactive approach
- Familiarity with governance platforms (e.g. Diligent Boards) desirable
- Chartered Governance Institute (ICSA) qualification preferred or in progress
