Our client is a leading global renewable energy developer with a growing portfolio of energy assets operating across multiple jurisdictions. They are seeking a talented Senior Legal Counsel - Finance to join their dynamic team. In this integral role, you will support the organisation in its management of its existing project financings, corporate facility arrangements and placement of further financing products. Additionally, you will have an excellent grounding and experience in debt financing including re-financings (with experience in financing renewable energy projects) and a solid working knowledge of the practicalities of administering such asset/project financings.
About the Role:
- Lead legal support and advice during M&A and development transactions with regards to placement of new financings and/or re-financings across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide legal support and advice to internal stakeholders and lead on the negotiation and drafting of key financing, corporate facilities and security documents for project financings, bridge/construction financings.
- Manage existing financings (including requests for waivers, consents and amendments, and dealing with potential EoDs).
- Support the development of in-house expertise including on internal policies, procedures and precedents.
Who You Are:
- A legal professional with at least 7+ years' experience, preferably gained in a leading international law firm or in-house in the renewables sector.
- Experienced in project financings and corporate financings, particularly in the renewables space.
- Corporate, commercial and/or M&A exposure and experience demonstrating a wider understanding of the key transactional matters relevant to renewables.
- Strong organisational and management skills with a proven ability to manage both external and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and influencing skills.
- Strategic thinking with a proactive "get things done" attitude.
