Build the legal foundations of sovereign‑grade AI. Sovereign AI is a UK‑based AI infrastructure and solutions provider building the next generation of sovereign, secure AI data centres across EMEA. Operating at the intersection of technology, infrastructure, regulation, and national‑level capability, Sovereign AI supports highly regulated and mission‑critical sectors including Government, Defence, Healthcare, and Financial Services.
As the business scales, Sovereign AI is now hiring a Senior Counsel to partner closely with the Group General Counsel and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s legal, corporate, and commercial strategy.
The Role
This is a broad, high‑impact in‑house role offering genuine exposure to:
- Fundraising, venture capital and strategic transactions
- Complex commercial and technology agreements (AI, SaaS, data, infrastructure)
- AI governance, data protection, IP and emerging regulation
- Corporate structuring, governance and board‑level support
- Strategic partnerships and cross‑border matters
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, delivering clear, pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice in a fast‑growth, highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Bring
- 8-10+ years’ PQE, ideally from a leading law firm and/or high‑growth tech or infrastructure business
- Strong experience across commercial contracts and corporate matters, including fundraising and shareholder arrangements
- A solid understanding of technology, data, AI governance and regulatory risk
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders, investors and external counsel
- A commercial, solutions‑driven mindset with excellent drafting skills
- Qualified as a Solicitor (England & Wales)
