Join one of the world’s leading law firms and play a key role in protecting the business from financial crime risk. Cooley is seeking an AML Risk & Compliance Analyst to join its London-based Risk & Compliance team. Reporting to the AML Risk & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for conducting client due diligence, sanctions screening and AML reviews while supporting the firm’s wider compliance framework across the UK, Europe and Asia.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AML professional looking to develop their career within a prestigious international law firm. You will work closely with senior compliance stakeholders, partners and the firm’s MLRO, gaining exposure to complex global AML and sanctions matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct AML and Client Due Diligence (CDD) reviews for new and existing clients
  • Perform sanctions screening and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) checks
  • Research and analyse client structures, ownership and risk profiles
  • Prepare AML packs and recommendations for management approval
  • Maintain accurate records within compliance systems and databases
  • Support ongoing monitoring and periodic client reviews
  • Assist with regulatory audits and compliance projects
  • Collaborate with legal and business teams to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Contribute to process improvements and help drive operational efficiency within the AML function
About You

  • Experience conducting AML/CDD checks on individuals and corporate entities
  • Strong understanding of AML legislation and regulatory expectations
  • Previous experience within a law firm, professional services environment or regulated financial institution
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree-level education (LLB preferred but not essential)
