An established consumer brand is seeking an experienced Interim Legal Counsel to provide immediate support during a busy period of transition. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key part in keeping the business operating smoothly.
The Role
Reporting directly into their General Counsel and joining a lean legal team, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business, with a primary focus on commercial contracts across a range of business functions. You’ll also support with marketing, advertising, and general compliance matters, ensuring the business continues to operate within regulatory requirements while meeting commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts (including sales, procurement, marketing, digital, influencer, licensing, logistics and IT).
- Provide guidance to marketing and digital teams around brand protection and advertising compliance.
- Offer pragmatic advice on general compliance matters, primarily data protection.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation and deliver clear, solutions-led advice in a fast-moving environment.
About You
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with strong in-house and/or private practice experience (likely upwards of c.5 years PQE).
- Background in FMCG or consumer goods is highly desirable.
- Highly resilient, pragmatic, and commercially minded.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Comfortable operating with autonomy in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
