We’re supporting an international law firm in hiring a Head of Conflicts into their London Risk & Compliance team. This is a senior leadership opportunity offering the chance to shape and enhance conflicts processes on a global scale, while playing a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across the business.

The Role

Reporting into the Risk & Compliance Partner, you will lead on a major programme of work to transform and strengthen the firm’s conflicts framework, including driving improvements to systems, processes, and policies. This role combines strategic oversight, project delivery, and team leadership, with a focus on building a best‑in‑class conflicts function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver a large‑scale project to enhance internal conflicts processes and procedures.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues across client matters, lateral hires, and firm initiatives.
  • Draft waivers, consent language, and updates to terms of business as required.
  • Develop and maintain conflicts policies and procedures in line with regulatory expectations.
  • Deliver training to partners and staff globally on conflicts and confidentiality.
  • Act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, including reporting to committees and leadership.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing conflicts team.

About You

  • Qualified lawyer with significant experience in conflicts or risk & compliance within an international law firm.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive change in a complex, global environment.
  • Strong understanding of conflicts, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with conflicts systems (e.g. Intapp).
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to deliver operational improvements.
