Overview
A forward-thinking and innovative financial services trading firm is looking to hire a talented Derivatives Lawyer to join its high-performing London legal team.
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you’ll play a key role in advising the business on a wide range of trading and derivatives matters. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, commercial environment where legal is truly embedded in the business.
The role
- Lead negotiations with derivatives counterparties across all asset classes
- Draft and advise on trading-related agreements including ISDA documentation, prime brokerage, futures and OTC clearing, repurchase agreements, and electronic trading
- Counsel business units on contract strategy, risk, and obligations, offering practical, commercial solutions
- Identify and mitigate regulatory risks in collaboration with compliance, internal stakeholders, and external counsel
Suitable candidate profile
- UK, Common Law, or European qualified lawyer with ideally 5+ years’ PQE (flexible on level)
- Strong experience in derivatives and/or financial markets
- Solid understanding of EMIR, MiFID II, and other international trading regulations
- Global outlook, APAC experience a plus
- Commercial mindset, collaborative approach, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
