The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead all EHS activity at a large-scale, complex manufacturing site in Craigavon. This is a senior, site-critical role with responsibility for shaping safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across a multi-functional operation. You will operate at both a strategic and operational level, partnering closely with senior leadership while maintaining a strong presence on the ground. The position offers the opportunity to play a key role in a changing and evolving manufacturing environment, with new product lines and operational transformation underway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the site’s health, safety and environmental strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory and corporate standards
  • Own and continuously improve EHS management systems aligned to recognised standards (e.g. ISO frameworks)
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through training, engagement and behavioural safety initiatives
  • Identify risks, conduct assessments and implement preventative and corrective actions across operations
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
  • Partner cross-functionally with production, engineering and site services to embed EHS into daily operations
  • Oversee audits, compliance reporting and regulatory submissions
  • Lead emergency response readiness and site safety processes, including external stakeholder liaison
  • Analyse EHS performance data and implement structured improvement initiatives

The Environment

  • Large, high-risk manufacturing site with c.700 employees
  • Complex engineering environment including welding and production operations
  • Ongoing operational change, including new product introduction and production line transformation.
  • Well-established safety processes already in place, with scope to enhance and modernise

Experience

  • Proven background in EHS leadership within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments
  • Experience operating at both a strategic and hands-on operational level
  • Strong track record in risk management, compliance and continuous improvement

Technical & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and management systems (e.g. ISO standards)
  • Recognised HSE qualifications (NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent)
  • Degree in safety, engineering or related discipline preferred

Leadership & Skills

  • Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience within unionised or highly regulated environments beneficial
