The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead all EHS activity at a large-scale, complex manufacturing site in Craigavon. This is a senior, site-critical role with responsibility for shaping safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across a multi-functional operation. You will operate at both a strategic and operational level, partnering closely with senior leadership while maintaining a strong presence on the ground. The position offers the opportunity to play a key role in a changing and evolving manufacturing environment, with new product lines and operational transformation underway.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site’s health, safety and environmental strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory and corporate standards
- Own and continuously improve EHS management systems aligned to recognised standards (e.g. ISO frameworks)
- Drive a proactive safety culture through training, engagement and behavioural safety initiatives
- Identify risks, conduct assessments and implement preventative and corrective actions across operations
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
- Partner cross-functionally with production, engineering and site services to embed EHS into daily operations
- Oversee audits, compliance reporting and regulatory submissions
- Lead emergency response readiness and site safety processes, including external stakeholder liaison
- Analyse EHS performance data and implement structured improvement initiatives
The Environment
- Large, high-risk manufacturing site with c.700 employees
- Complex engineering environment including welding and production operations
- Ongoing operational change, including new product introduction and production line transformation.
- Well-established safety processes already in place, with scope to enhance and modernise
Experience
- Proven background in EHS leadership within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments
- Experience operating at both a strategic and hands-on operational level
- Strong track record in risk management, compliance and continuous improvement
Technical & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and management systems (e.g. ISO standards)
- Recognised HSE qualifications (NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent)
- Degree in safety, engineering or related discipline preferred

- Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience within unionised or highly regulated environments beneficial
