Wessex Custom Clothing is an established and growing garment decoration business, specialising in high-quality printed and embroidered apparel. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Garment Printing & Embroidery Operator to join our production team.
This role is suited to a candidate with proven experience in a fast-paced clothing print and embroidery environment, capable of producing high-volume orders while maintaining excellent quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Operating commercial garment printing and embroidery machines
- Setting up and running jobs for screen printing, DTF/DTG, vinyl, and/or embroidery (depending on experience)
- Producing high-volume orders to agreed deadlines and quality standards
- Checking artwork, garment specifications, placements, and thread/ink colours prior to production
- Monitoring print and stitch quality throughout production runs
- Carrying out routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Working closely with the production team to meet daily targets
- Essential: Proven ability to produce high-volume orders efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure
- Desirable: Previous experience in the garment decoration industry
- Experience working in a busy clothing print and/or embroidery shop
- Experience with multiple print methods (screen print, DTG, DTF, vinyl)
- Commercial embroidery machine experience (single or multi-head)
- Basic machine maintenance knowledge
- Understanding of garment types, fabrics, and decoration limitations
- 20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
