We are searching for a Fluent Japanese speaker to work on our client's Metals Commodity sales/trading desk, to execute trading requests from base metals clientele with a clear focus on our Japanese speaking portfolio. The role will report to the Head of Sales in London, however, there will be close interaction with our Tokyo sales team who manage 25+ Japanese clients.
You will be part of a team of sales professionals in London and interact with numerous departments within the company: primarily trading, credit, and operations. In the short-term, the role would involve day-to-day servicing/execution of client business, but as you mature in the role, you will be expected to expand into business development, travel frequently, and assist with European client coverage.
Interaction with clients predominantly takes place via telephone, email, and electronic messenger. You will be required to produce a daily Japanese trading report for both clients and colleagues.
Ideally, you would be expected to have proficient knowledge of Eikon, Bloomberg, LME Select, as well as internal trading platforms and order management systems.
Candidate Profile- Fluent in Japanese and English.
- A minimum of 2 yearsβ experience within commodity and/or financial markets.
- Diligent and hardworking with attention to detail.
- Driven to succeed and pass regulatory examinations and internal compliance and IT security training.
- Demonstrate ability to cope with high-pressure situations, both internally on the trading desk and externally when dealing with customers.
- Regularly visit clients and prospects, and further attend industry trade fairs and conferences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
The position is usually based in our London Head Office. Hours are 07:30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. Currently hybrid working with a minimum of three days in the office.
