Our client is an Ipswich-based insurance organisation looking for a recent graduate or accounts assistant to develop their career as an Accounts Assistant.

Location: Ipswich, Salary: £30,000 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Raise invoices and credits as required in relation to the policy wording.
  • Maintain reconciliations within the Accounts department.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the Accounts department, including banking and remittances.
  • Develop and apply a thorough knowledge of the insurance market and underwriting process.
  • Assist with the underwriting process, including production and distribution of policy documentation per underwriter instructions.
  • Input and maintain accurate records within Underwriting and Accounts systems, capturing relevant data for monitoring and analysing risks written.
  • Assist with credit control, chasing bad debt and working with underwriters to recover funds.
  • Liaise with brokers and policy holders to obtain information, produce insurance documentation, and chase outstanding premium, adjustments and declarations.
  • Assist with claim payment processing.
  • Liaise with brokers and clients to develop good working relationships.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting or a numerically related subject.
  • Recent graduate or prior experience as an accounts assistant.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
